 Marion Meadows
 Althea René

Marion Meadows: Saxophonist / Artist / Photographer / Producer of contemporary Jazz and R&B. Originally a tenor player, he migrated to the soprano horn shortly after high school and has played it almost exclusively ever since. His signature tone is sharp-edged yet short and sweet, with a consumate sense of lyricism. Marion is a first-call session player and live sideman as well as a band leader.

Althea Rene is the original "Soul-Jazz Flutist" and the first flutist to have a #1 single on the Billboard Smooth Jazz music charts. Althea gained musical inspiration from her father Dezie McCullers (one of Motown's original Funk Brothers). She has since developed her creative style. Some regard her as a "master of her craft" and one of the world's most exciting solo improvisational soul-jazz flutists. The multiplatinum and Grammy-nominated saxophonist Najee playfully refers to her as the “Maceo of the flute”.

Blending of soul, funk, jazz, and rock like no other band, Tower of Power has created their own unique genre, not easily fitting into traditionally defined categories.

 Naturally 7

More than just your average singing group, the members of Naturally 7 have perfected an intriguing a cappella style they’ve branded “Vocal Play”—singing as instruments. In its quest to celebrate the voice, this seven-man crew not only sings but also creates every backing instrument heard on its songs, including drums, bass, guitars, horns, flutes, and turntables. Stepping beyond R&B and pop, Naturally 7 taps into various genres, from traditional gospel and rock to 17th century baroque, that on the surface do not seem to mesh. But in the hands of musical director/first baritone/rapper Roger Thomas and his six enterprising cohorts—brother Warren Thomas (drums, third tenor), Rod Eldridge (first tenor, turntables, trumpet), Lee Ricardo “Ricky” Cort (fourth tenor, guitar), Dwight Stewart (second baritone, trombone), Sean Simmonds (second tenor, harmonica) and Kelvin “Kelz” Mitchell (bass)—the impossible becomes possible!

Rick Braun is a dynamic trumpeter, composer, and producer, with over 20 #1 Smooth Jazz hits. He has enjoyed a career longevity that is rare in this business. He has crafted his own distinctive sound and become a staple on contemporary jazz radio. He has produced No. 1 hits for David Benoit, Marc Antoine, and former Rod Stewart band sidekick, Jeff Golub. Braun achieved collaborative success on massive hits with Boney James, as a member of RnR with saxophonist Richard Elliot, and with BWB, a powerhouse trio completed by Grammy® winners Kirk Whalum and Norman Brown. He has made a mark staying true to his own musical voice and eclectic influences that have allowed him to collaborate across genres with some of the biggest names in music, including Tina Turner, Tom Petty, Sadé, Natalie Cole and REO Speedwagon.

Over the years, Peter White has maintained a reputation as one of the most versatile and prolific acoustic guitarists on the contemporary jazz landscape. Armed with an unparalleled combination of lyricism and energy, he combines elements of jazz, pop and classical guitar to create a sound that is singular and at the same time accessible to a broad audience.

Richard Elliot started out as a member of the jazz-rock unit, KittyHawk, playing lyricon (a wind synthesizer) and saxophone, and recording several albums with them. He then became a member of the funk band Tower of Power, playing tenor sax for five years during the 1980s. He also did a stint as a member of the Yellowjackets. His solo career took off when he remade the Percy Sledge classic "When a Man Loves a Woman", which had also been remade by Michael Bolton. Other well-known songs include "In the Groove", "Take Your Time", "Crush", "Chill Factor", "Corner Pocket" and "Sly", as well as remakes of classic pop songs such as "I'm Not in Love" and the Luther Vandross hits "Here and Now" and "Your Secret Love".

 Lindsey Webster

If Sadé were to take over Mariah Carey's body and sing to tracks written by Steely Dan, the combination might hit somewhere close to Lindsey Webster's sound. Until that happens, though, there will just be Lindsey. Woodstock, NY, Lindsey's native town, might also have had something to do with her powerhouse’s lyrics, style, and down-to-earth attitude.

From the first note, Lindsey Webster captivates listeners. Her rich, soulful voice enchants a dedicated following who connect with the raw emotion she shares with them. As a soul R&B artist, she combines an admirable natural talent with a genuine, accessible stage presence.
